Job Summary & Responsibilities

We are looking for a Cloud Security Engineer (Senior or Principal depending on experience) in our Security team whose responsibility is to protect Nevro’s AWS cloud infrastructure that covers the product and internal cloud environments. The ideal candidate is an expert in AWS Cloud Security Design, Architecture, and Implementation and is hands-on in driving implementation of infrastructure as code using (Terraform). Main responsibilities are:

· Responsible for protecting Nevro’s AWS infrastructure and applications.

· Partner with Developers, IT, DevOps, and security champions to secure the AWS environment.

· Drive the adoption of risk-based, contextual and data driven vulnerability management.

· Prevent cloud misconfigurations and secure the deployment process for containers, images and serverless workloads.

· Drive the implementation of AWS Well Architected Framework from a security standpoint.

· Create visibility, identify, and defend from threats.

· Develop strategies to increase Cloud Security knowledge throughout the enterprise and develop and mentor engineers in IT, Developers, DevOps and security teams.

· Lead the management and creation of cloud Security policy and procedures as it relates to cloud security Architecture.

Role Requirements

  • 10+ Years of experience in security
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience on AWS security
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management and coordination skills
  • Practical experience implementing Zero Trust Architecture is a must
  • Terraform experience is a must
  • Solid programming/scripting skills for automating your work (Bash, Python or similar)
  • Hands-on use of Github to maintain and roll out the code you write
  • Experience with Wiz.io is a plus
  • You have insatiable curiosity and are a fast learner
  • You have bias for action
  • You can balance diverse risk when making decisions

  • Computer Science Degree or equivalent
  • AWS Certified Security – Specialty, CISSP or similar

Target Pay Range

$147,641-$203,006.  The final starting salary offer to the successful candidate will be determined by evaluating several factors, such as whether Senior or Principal level, education, experience, knowledge, skills, internal equity, alignment with market data, and geography. *Nevro is a multi-state employer, so the target pay range may increase or decrease depending on the city/state.
