    This position serves as the senior liaison between physicians and the company regarding technical issues.  This encompasses, IDE clinical trials, troubleshooting and future product features. The incumbent is expected to act as a mentor for Field Clinical Engineers.  The FCE collaborates with Regulatory, QA and R&D. 


    Clinical Research

    1. Selection, training and monitoring of IDE Clinical site
    2. Conducting Field ResearchWork with FCE’s to resolve any and all study and technology related problems at clinical centers
      1. Facilitate Physician Protocol generation
      2. Organize the study sites and the follow-up documentation
      3. Facilitate the abstract process
      4. Recruit research centers
      5. Coordinate Data collection
    3. Work with FCE’s to resolve any and all study and technology related problems at clinical centers

     Product Development

    1. Liaison between R & D and Physicians
    2. Coordinate beta testing and feasibility studies
      1. Develop protocols
      2. Recruit Centers
      3. Conduct in-house testing of new products

    Publication Development

    1. Facilitate submission of research for presentations
      1. Work with Nevro Corp and physicians to prepare scripts
      2. Work with Nevro Corp and physicians to prepare slides, overheads, and power point presentations
    2. Abstract and Manuscript preparation

    Training/Field Education

    1. Conduct one on one clinical research education and training with physicians and staff.
    2. Coordinate with the manager of training and education for customer training for larger multi-center classes.
    1. Lecture at and participate in Regional and National training programs.
    2. Aid Physicians with technology
      1. Literature Searches
      2. Engineering
      3. Technology
    3. Generation of Literature
      1. Create tech memos
      2. Facilitate Sales and Marketing with Marketing literature review
    Field Technical Responsibilities
    1. Follow-up with reported technical issues
    1. Troubleshoot field technical problems
    2. Respond to and document technical problems that put patients at risk 
    3. Work with engineering to solve product issues
    4. Help explain issues to clinic personnel



    1. Assist in identifying key leaders in the field
    2. Help identify new technologies and new directions for existing technology
    3. Assist in reviewing Marketing materials

    Sales Assistance

    1. Assist Sales to identify and target physicians
    2. Coordinate Data collection
    3. Work with the FCE director to resolve any issues that arise between FCE’s and sales personnel

    Role Requirements

    • 6 years experience in the field in a technical or medical field with an MS degree in Engineering or no experience with a PhD
    • MS degree in Engineering or higher degree, 8 years Field experience supporting an implantable device preferred


    Skills and Knowledge


    • Engineering, medicine, human physiology, physician and hospital practices, basic computer user skills, O.R. and customer relations etiquette.
    • Be able to independently organize travel and daily work schedules.   Good communication skills.
