We started with a simple mission to help more patients suffering from chronic pain. At each stage of development, our research was subject to the highest levels of scientific rigor, resulting in a new therapy that has advanced the state of spinal cord stimulation (SCS).

We explored beyond traditional SCS frequencies (40–60 Hz) in search of better therapeutic outcomes. Combining high frequency at 10 kHz with a unique waveform and a specific treatment algorithm resulted in HF10 therapy: a paresthesia-free treatment proven to provide more pain relief to more patients in more pain areas.1

The Nevro® Senza® SCS System received CE mark in 2010, TGA approval in 2011, FDA approval in 2015, and is commercially available in Europe, Australia, and the United States.

Overview

Reporting to the VP, Market Access and Reimbursement, the Senior Manager, has in-depth expertise in developing and implementing strategic and tactical reimbursement/market access initiatives in the US and/or internationally.   A key focus of this position is to collaborate with U.S. facility customers (Hospitals & ASCs) as well as Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) in support of the Medicare Transitional Pass-Through Payment for HF10 therapy.  The role is also focused on supporting internal and external customers as well as key stakeholders in all aspects of the reimbursement process.  The candidate is highly skilled at developing relationships as well as working across the organization to achieve reimbursement and patient access goals that are aligned with sales and marketing strategies.   

Role Requirements

  • Provide pragmatic reimbursement support to sales partners and customers such as physicians, hospitals, ASCs, investigator sites, medical specialty societies as assigned in specific geographic territory. This will include education and support regarding coding, coverage, billing and occasional claims auditing.
  • Develop relationships with facilities in assigned areas to support the successful execution of the Medicare Transitional Pass-Through Status payment.  Provide specific education to facilities regarding coding and reimbursement and follow-up to ensure proper reimbursement levels.
  • Develop relationships with Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) to ensure that HF10 therapy claims are paid appropriately, for hospital outpatient procedures as well as Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) procedures.  Execute MAC focused coverage & payment strategies as required to resolve payment issues if they arise. 
  • Collaborate with sales partners and marketing team to provide field based reimbursement/market access education, training and support.
  • Develop relationships in assigned markets with government, physicians, hospitals, worker’s compensation, and commercial payer decision makers as well as KOLs.
  • Collaborate with Patient Access team to identify reimbursement issues that should be proactively addressed such as customer issues with payer coverage, denials, etc. 
  • Develop key reimbursement tools and analyses to support the organization’s strategic objectives and operational goals
  • Develop and implement reimbursement (coverage, coding & payment) activities in support of future indications 
  • Minimum 8+ years of work experience in implantable medical device industry, with specific functional responsibility in market access, reimbursement, marketing, sales, and/or payer policy development
  • Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. and/or global healthcare systems including expertise in reimbursement support to a sales organization, reimbursement policy development and technology assessment processes.
  • Previous experience in implantable medical device reimbursement, health economics and/or outcomes research, preferably with experience with commercialization in a high growth company
  • Equivalent years of experience may be substituted for education requirement
  • Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree (e.g., MS, MPH, or MBA) or equivalent preferred.

  • Domestic travel up to 40%, including travel to home office if based elsewhere
