The Therapy Consultant provides technical expertise through sales presentations, product demonstrations, installation and maintenance of company products. Works with Sales Representatives to meet existing and potential clients (e.g., physicians, physician office groups at hospitals) to identify their clinical needs, goals, and constraints related to patient care and to discuss and demonstrate how company products can help them to achieve their goals and meet patient/client's needs.

Role Requirements

  • Promotes company products to current and potential customers within a defined region by providing clinical education of implant procedures and support for a variety of issues.
  • Serves as primary resource for clinical support including, but not limited to: troubleshooting, programming, and patient follow-up for company products. May provide detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of client applications and solutions.
  • Responds to customer needs and complaints regarding products and service by developing creative and feasible solutions or working with other related personnel (e.g., sales, clinical, research, marketing, technical support) to develop optimal solutions.
  • Provides follow-up support to company sales staff and customer personnel by disseminating technical information on specific applications.
  • Trains and educates customers on the merits and proper clinical usage of company products by giving presentations and demonstrations using appropriate formats and platforms (e.g., slides, manuals, etc.) to keep customers abreast of new and existing products. Typically attends and may oversee surgeries/implants in a clinical setting including labs and operation rooms of hospital accounts.
  • Perform patient follow-up to assure customer and patient success with the implanted products. Develops and maintains business relationships with hospital personnel.
  • This position requires driving and travelling to visit customers. In addition, the use of the telephone and keyboard on a daily basis. Carrying company equipment on trips will include laptops, chargers, brochures, as well as study related equipment, i.e. programmers, coils.
  • Hospitals, operating rooms, clinics, surgical centers. Travel 50-100% depending on relative locations of customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Experience in a consultative sales role a plus.
  • SCS experience and/or patient interaction experience preferable.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and influence relationships.
  • Analytical skills, including statistical analysis.
  • PC skills necessary (MS Office/Excel) and experience with sales force automation tools a plus.
